Fall – A New Beginning

September 12, 2013 by mamakay Leave a Comment

It is September and it is finally starting to cool down. School lessons are underway. Food is being preserved. Life is returning to a comfortable rhythm. I have found myself wanting to write again. And so I am attempting to breath life back into this blog in hopes of preserving these days as they pass so quickly by. I have posts planned for our new way of doing school (that allows me time to be able to write and spend more time in the kitchen), growing fodder for chickens and cows, preserving food for the winter and more.

Here’s to new beginnings!

a thousand gifts

February 1, 2011 by mamakay Leave a Comment

I started my 1000 gifts list many years ago inspired by Ann V at Holy Experience. (I’ve been reading her blog for 6 years now! Always encouraging!) Well, an amazing thing has happened! She published a book call a thousand gifts 2 weeks ago and it has made it to the Best Seller List! She opened herself up and shared herself and the work God is doing in her life to show us how God can do the same for us. I’ve been slowly reading through the book trying to absorb what she is saying. It gives me so much hope! She doesn’t pretend to be perfect but she shows with her words and actions how to keep seeking God and finding joy in everyday life. Bloom is having a book club using Ann’s book. I highly recommend you read it!

Take the dare and start your list today!

Here’s a trailer about her book:

Stitch Fix outfit

So glad you stopped by. I am a Christian wife and mother of 8 in the middle years. My kids are aged 4 to 20 and just about every 2 years in between. I write about our life as a big family, what God is personally doing in my life, food and books.
