Desert Song

January 18, 2010 by mamakay Leave a Comment

We have sung this song at church lately and it has really spoken to me as I look back on the last few years. I really feel like we are heading into a season of harvest and the last line really struck me that after a time of harvest I need to sow the seed I’ve received. I hope to have time to chronicle more of our story of how God has moved greatly in our lives after we get settled. For now here are the lyrics to Desert Song by Hillsong:

Verse 1:
This is my prayer in the desert
And all that’s within me feels dry
This is my prayer in the hunger in me
My God is a God who provides

Verse 2:
And this is my prayer in the fire
In weakness or trial or pain
There is a faith proved
Of more worth than gold
So refine me Lord through the flames

Chorus:
And I will bring praise
I will bring praise
No weapon forged against me shall remain

I will rejoice
I will declare
God is my victory and He is here

Verse 3:
And this is my prayer in the battle
And triumph is still on it’s way
I am a conqueror and co-heir with Christ
So firm on His promise I’ll stand

Bridge:
All of my life
In every season
You are still God
I have a reason to sing
I have a reason to worship

Verse 4:
This is my prayer in the harvest
When favor and providence flow
I know I’m filled to be empited again
The seed I’ve recieved I will sow

Camping

June 20, 2007 by mamakay Leave a Comment

Sorry I haven’t been posting much. We’ve been finding ways to get out of the heat this summer.

We found a great area that is only 3 hours away to try out camping. (Last year we decided that we should adopt camping as a family hobby. This is only our second attempt at it and we’ve gone with a group of friends each time.)

We had a great time.

The kids had a great time playing with their friends. They decided to build a bridge across a small ditch. After working for 1 1/2 days on it — it was actually sturdy enough for 6 of them to all stand on it wihtout it failing!

Here’s a picture:

We also caught a beautiful butterfly in our tent!

I love being out in God’s creation and enjoying the beauty he created.

And one called to another and said: “Holy, holy, holy is the LORD of hosts; the whole earth is full of his glory!”
(Isaiah 6:3)

Stitch Fix outfit

So glad you stopped by. I am a Christian wife and mother of 8 in the middle years. My kids are aged 4 to 20 and just about every 2 years in between. I write about our life as a big family, what God is personally doing in my life, food and books.
